Miley Cyrus Releases New Hannah Montana Song 'Younger You' for 20th Anniversary

Miley Cyrus has surprised fans by releasing a new song under her iconic Disney Channel persona Hannah Montana, marking the 20th anniversary of the series that launched her to global stardom.

The song, titled "Younger You," was first previewed during the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, which aired on Disney+ on March 24, 2026. A music video has also been released, featuring clips from the anniversary special and scenes from Hannah Montana: The Movie.

A Thank You to Fans

Cyrus shared a heartfelt message with the release: "Younger me has loved celebrating 20 years of Hannah Montana with you. This song is yours as a thank you for the life we've grown through together. I love you always."

The anniversary special was filmed before a live audience and included an interview with Alex Cooper, as well as cameos from Selena Gomez, Chappell Roan, and Cyrus's parents.

Hannah Montana's Legacy

The original Hannah Montana series premiered in 2006 and ran until 2011, following the double life of Miley Stewart, a regular teenager who secretly performed as pop star Hannah Montana. The show was a cultural phenomenon, producing five soundtrack albums, three of which reached the top of the Billboard 200 chart.

The series launched Cyrus's music career and made her one of the biggest stars of her generation. Since the show ended, Cyrus has evolved as an artist, releasing critically acclaimed albums and establishing herself as a serious musician beyond her Disney roots.

Nostalgia and New Music

"Younger You" represents a rare return to the Hannah Montana character for Cyrus, who has generally moved away from her Disney past in recent years. The 20th anniversary provided an opportunity to celebrate the show's impact while acknowledging how both Cyrus and her fans have grown since those early days.
